Unanswered Verse

4 out of 5 Hoots

As I mentioned in a previous post I do not read poetry as much as other genres. I do enjoy poetry and find that sometimes the poets are able to put these feelings that a lot of us feel into words. For me explaining my emotions is pretty difficult and yet when I read some poems all I can think is “holy crap…THIS!”

So I decided to venture and read another collection of poems and verses and so I selected this one. It was free on Kindle Unlimited so I figured…why not?!

Unanswered verses is full of raw emotions. The author really let you glimpse his pain and insecurities on every single page. You got to read about how he felt like a failure. How he was made fun of as a kid. How he felt lost as an adult and got married because it was the next “logical step”. And you were able to read about the moment his heart broke when he saw his wife was in bed with another man, and then that image disappeared.

Overall I did enjoy the book but some of the writing was not as strong in sections but it was still an enjoyable read…..but again a lot of these poems were painful and raw. If you are looking for an uplifting book this is not what you are looking for. But if you are looking for something that just shows the struggle of feeling insecure this is the one for you.

I love reading all kinds of books but have no one to share them with....that was until now. My favorite genre's are: Cozy mysteries, Fantasy, Horror, and thrillers.
