Gripping. I could not put this book down! I couldn’t believe how many twists this book had!
Relationships come in all shapes and sizes. In this book we are brought into the world of polygamy, but it is not what you think. This wasn’t about sister wives, heck they didn’t even know each other’s names! That is until Thursday’s curiosity got the best of her and she decided she wanted to find out who her competition was.
I will be honest, right from the start I was not a fan of Thursday. In fact I was a little put off by her. She seemed to think she was better than other women, not just her husbands other wives. It was hard to feel sympathy for her because she was not exactly a humble character. Even when things started to spiral out of control for her I did not feel bad for her. Seriously, when presented with evidence that her husband might have actually been abusive to his one wife she tried to figure out how it was that wife’s fault! She just thought that her relationship with him was perfect and that these other women were just horrible and deserved nothing.
Opinions about Thursday aside, the book itself really kept you guessing. You believed reality to be one thing and then it slowly warped into something else! I do not want to give anything away, but there was one section where I was really rooting for the truth to be different than the reality presented. I didn’t like Thursday but some of the things that happened to her were a bit crazy.
Overall, the book was almost perfect, but there were just some things that just did not appear realistic. I mean yes, this is a thriller for a reason but it should be based in reality and some of this was over the top. It is so hard to not give anything away when writing this review. There were so many twists that it made it impossible to put the book down. I mean I disliked the main character but I needed to know what was going to happen next! If you are looking for a thriller that leaves you guessing…this is the one for you!
