Here We Go Again: My Life In Television by Betty White

5 Hoots

An interesting look at Betty’s career from radio to television.

The Golden Girls series came out the same year that I was born….hey! Stop trying to figure out the math, that’s not nice lol. Anyway, my mom loved this show and I actually have memories of sitting and watching the show with her. So for me I always thought that Golden Girls was where her career started, but I was soooooooo wrong!

I think it is pretty safe to say that there is no one who would speak badly about Betty. She is just so freaking golden and funny! I mean, she honestly brings magic to the screen in everything she does. What is mind blowing to me is that her career started in radio! Her first gig ever didn’t even cover the cost of her joining the union, but she didn’t care she just wanted to get a start. The book went into what her first jobs were, how she began to get into television, and her relationships! There was a whole world before Golden Girls and this book let you in on her world. She was much more than just a Golden Girl!

Overall, I loved this book. It let me learn so much about her! I cant believe how much more I appreciate her now that I know more of her story. She is a wonderful woman who had this amazing life but people mainly know her as a golden girl. If you find Betty White hysterical and just love watching her I recommend that you pick this book up! And if you can get the audiobook I recommend that too. There is just something special about a celebrity telling you their story. I’m glad I picked this up from my library! 🙂
