Mist by the Lighthouse by Victoria LK Williams

5 Hoots

Williams really stepped it up in the installment! I was on the edge of my seat! And who is this new little girl and why does she know so much about the Seavers?

I am so excited to share this review with you guys. This book was release yesterday and it is just so good! If you have not gotten a chance to read this series, you really need to. This cozy series focuses on Morgan Seaver and her battle to protect Pearl island from an evil Sea Witch. This time the island is being used for drug trafficking and an innocent woman was caught in the crossfire! Can Morgan figure out who is smuggling drugs on the island and destroying the reef in the process before Cora attacks again?

The Strongman’s Spell by Amorette Anderson

5 Hoots

A marvelous spin off of the Hillcrest Witch series. Amorette did a wonderful job giving the reader everything they loved from the original series while giving us something entirely new.

One of my favorite cozy mystery series was the Hillcrest witch series and I was so sad when the series was over. BUT the series ended with Marley opening up a retreat, so I had hope that we would get a spin off and we did! This book starts off on the opening weekend of her wonderful retreat. Things were going well except for the fact that a reviewer was murdered and his ghost demanded that Marley find his killer or else he would have a scathing review of her resort published. So what choice did Marley really have?

A Spell for Trouble by Esme Addison

5 Hoots

Witches. Mermaids. Magic. A wonderful beginning to a new cozy mystery series!

I was lucky enough to get and ARC copy of this book from Netgalley and I am really excited that I did! It is no mystery that I love reading cozy mysteries and I feel like I struck gold with this one. I read cozies that involved magic but this is the first one that I have read that involved mermaids! Sadly, these women are only descendants of mermaids and they themselves cannot grow a tail, but a girl can dream. While there were no mermaid tails there was a portion of the book where we got to hear the authors version of the little mermaid. Ariel wasn’t involved but there was a magical shield that played an important part in this story.

Potions are for Pushovers by Tamara Berry

5 Hoots

Berry did it again! This was another fun addition to the Eleanor Wilde series.

Sometimes when I choose a book I honestly do not look at if it was part of a series I have read before. I like to just mix it up when I read, so you can imagine how happy I was when I found out that this was the sequel to Seances are for Suckers! For those of you who are not familiar with this series it is about a woman who claims to be a psychic or a witch… but is actually just very smart and intuitive. Well, there is the fact that she does hear the voice of her dead sister, but that is a different story (Definitely check out book 1). In this book she plays the role of a local “witch” and sells potions to help the local townspeople. Unfortunately for her, one of her bottles was found on the body of a local woman….to make matters worse, people are assuming that she poisoned her!

Case of the Happiness Spell by Amorette Anderson

5 Hoots

A delightful end to a wonderful series. My greatest wish is that somehow in the future we can visit Hillcrest again.

All good things must come to an end, and this series is no exception. The Hillcrest witches are completing the 13th cycle and that means that they will be full fledged witches once it is complete. Anderson was kind enough to let us join the coven on their journey, but that journey has come to an end. So, how was the end of the series?
